-1 chocolate brownie Quest protein bar (Chocolate chip cookie dough (also delicious with chocolate peanut butter, double chocolate chunk, or chocolate chip cookie dough flavors)
-1-2 tablespoons peanut butter
This shouldn’t even qualify as a recipe – it’s more of a life hack. This is a two-birds-one-stone solution for when you’re craving something rich and sweet but want to eat clean, too.
I’m a big fan of Quest protein bars – they’re surprisingly tasty and extremely low carb (4g net carbs per bar). There’s a great chewiness to them and they taste sweet without cramming in artificial sugar substitutes that wreck your stomach – the type in a diet coke or most protein bars.
When you throw them in the microwave, for just a few seconds, something magical happens – they expand and warm up, like a cookie skillet or a brownie cake.
Smother one in a bit of peanut butter and boom – you have a gooey, molten, chocolate-peanut butter mess that somehow packs a lot more protein than carbs or fat.
-Unwrap quest bar and break it in half
-Smother both sides of each half in peanut butter; stack on top of one another
-Microwave for 15-20 seconds (more = more done)
-Enjoy; ideally with a cold glass of mil
Note: there are other similar low-carb / high protein bars that also work well, but Quest bars are the most widely available.
